The cool sounding ‘Supia’ doll is just the brand, it’s real or so to say ‘official name is:

‘Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls’

Not only does it look creepy but it sounds the part too.

Well the thing that enthrals me the most about these dolls is just how beautifully they are made, the exquisite craftsmanship. From the hair, to the makeup and the wardrobe is just fantastic. Like a form of art, it gives off an ethereal like feeling.

Unfortunately as beautiful as it is, just looking at these dolls for an extended period of time really makes me uncomfortable. I can’t exactly pinpoint out the creep factor for sure but if I were to guess it’s probably due to the expressions on these dolls’ faces. It’s very beautiful (angelic almost) but at the same time the solemn expression just conveys deep sadness.

Anyways for any of you who are interested in these dolls, you can head to Volks’ Super Dolfie website, heck you can even purchase it there if you want. Not me though, no thanks!

From the trailer (and previous official press releases) we do know that the movie is separated into two parts, the first will premier in November 2010 and Part 2 stated to be release somewhere around July 2011. Half a year gap is pretty bearable I think, long enough for us to dust our robe off but aren’t that long till we forget how to conjure Patronuses (I’m totally nerding out aren’t I).

As a pothead fan, I’m actually pretty glad that they made it into a 2 part series, reason? Well it sort of prolonged the ‘fantasy’ before us fans had to say goodbye and unlike previous installments, hopefully this will ensure that the movie will stay true to the book. Which has been quite an issue among the fans in the past, the movie adaptations at times tend to be incoherent when there’s some serious editing involve in the plot line. To be fair, I do believe that the production team/screenwriters/directors have done quite a commendable job if you take it from the perspective of how they manage to cramp a 500 page tome into a 2-hour feature length movie . Come on people, sacrifices is inevitable,  give em’ a well deserved pat on the back!

All in all, the trailer looks very promising and as one of Potter’s diehard fans I sure do hope that the finale is nothing less than EPIC! Till then, I shall practice my expelliarmus and stupefy just like the rest of you potheads. O’ November be here already!

“Journey to Regional” the perfect culmination for the 1^st season of Glee. As I was drying my tears after the cast rendition of ‘To Sir, With Love’, I thought to myself “I just have to write about Glee!” and here goes.

I’m pretty sure that most if not all of you have heard about the show? Of course you do, it’s EVERYWHERE! You must be living in either Phobos or Deimos if you don’t. Let me just put it out there, I am a full-fledged GLEEK! I am not ashamed to identify myself as one and I’m pretty sure so does millions of Glee fans all over the world.

To the three of you who says “Glee.. Huh?”

The series follows an optimistic teacher, WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison), who – against all odds and a malicious cheerleading coach – attempts to save McKinley High’s Glee Club from obscurity, while helping a group of aspiring underdogs realize their true star potential. It’s a tall order when the brightest stars of the group include KURT (Chris Colfer), a soprano who hits a high note in fashion; MERCEDES (Amber Riley), a larger-than-life diva with a voice to match; ARTIE (Kevin McHale), a geeky guitarist who rocks and rolls; and TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz), a punk rocker who hides behind her stutter and blue hair extensions. I could give out tons of reasons why I absolutely adore Glee but for the most part it revolves around these 3, the characters, the storyline and of course the music.

Character:

The characters may come across a bit cliché since it derives from a bunch of typical high school misfit stereotypes but what makes Glee different is how well the series able to show the growth within each of them. The perfect example is Quinn Fabray, the virgin high school head cheerleader. She started off with being the scheming mean girl and when the tides turned after it was discovered that she was pregnant, we can see how she rise from total social defamation to strength to strength after she finally accepted that being popular isn’t everything and that only in Glee club is where her true friends lies. This is the show’s forte, the characters transition from what we were first introduced to into personalities with depth which changes the whole dynamic of the show. Another winning factor that makes the show a massive success is how relatable the cast are. As a viewer, it’s pretty important that we identify ourselves among the characters and Glee succeeds brilliantly in this department. It’s what makes the viewers tuning in, we feel for them, were rooting for them, we want them to succeed and it’s all because we ‘live’ through these characters!

Story:

Even with the most amazing cast, a show is nothing without a great storyline.  At its core, Glee centres on New Direction’s journey in reaching their goal of competing in sectionals which later progresses to the regionals. Along the way, the glee kids also have to face their own personal issues which involve topics such as racism, teen pregnancy and homosexuality. The writers of the show manage to do an excellent job in keeping the balance of discussing heavy controversial topics by mixing humour in its context, this allows the show to be comedic and relevant at the same time. On the contrary, the show is not without its flaws. To be perfectly honest, I feel like sometimes the plot tend to be a bit choppy. For example Jesse St. James sudden inclusion (and departure) into the New Direction, It just feels like the storyline is being rush. Throughout the first season, the show has an ongoing theme of discovering, accepting and believing in oneself and this theme I believe is one of the main reasons that the show has done so well. It takes a theme that people all over the world can relate to and reformulate it into a distinctive Glee fashion that makes it such a joy to watch.

Music/Performance:

Let me start it off by saying that the music featured in Glee is AWESOME! Gleeks all over the world would agree that the songs itself is reason enough for viewers to tune in week after week. The producers have done a great job by choosing popular hits that came across various genres and turn it into inspiring show tunes rendition performed brilliantly by New Direction. Praises to the scores is only enough to cover half of it, the rest lies to the talent of the cast themselves. Each of the main stars has a unique tone to their voice (I sound like Paula Abdul ) in which they seamlessly manage to create awesome vocal harmony. Easily some of the highlights of the show came from New Directions memorable group performances. To those who may not be into musicals that much, fear not. The show may revolve around show choir but the music is mainstream enough for most to enjoy. All in all the tunes are just fantastic, the fact that the Glee soundtrack has topped US Billboard chart multiple times is evident enough. Music is excellent, choreography is top notch and the vocals are amazing, what’s more to ask?

Okay before I turn this post into a more severe uber gleek fan-fest, I just have to say it one more time, Glee is AWESOME! Hands down one of the best shows to have debut in recent years and one that is here to stay. Season 2 is coming next September and like all true blue Gleek I shall wait with feverish anticipation. Until then, don’t stop believing…

Well take a look around my blog, it’s filled with cobwebs and if you listen closely, you might be able to hear crickets chirp (Yes they chirp, I’ve Google’ed). Bad news: you’re delusional if you can actually see and hear them, Good news: I am too! *Sigh* my blogging initiatives aren’t exactly going as planned, I really do want to be an active blogger but It’s just a bit hard when you have a job which practiced shifts rotation (EXCUSES!). Plus me being the over-analyzer that I am, I tend to take loads amount of time just to write something. Believe me, trying to come up with a title could take half-an hour, easy. That’s why I decided to pro-activate myself! Quantity over Quality! The wise may suggest otherwise but history shows that it just doesn’t bode well with me. I’ve thought about it and this is the only solution that I could come up with, reasons:

• More writing less thinking
• Job requires me to exercise my brain to the max (Shutting up customers aren’t as easy as one might think) hence brain cells are drained to be ‘creative’.
• Practice makes perfect, more writing more improvement right?
• Shorten average time cost per post equals more productivity

Do you see where I’m going with this? Basically what I’m trying to say is, I shall bimbonized my blog to increase the quantity of post! See genius right!? Less thinking more doing and in the long run I shall improve. Okay I’ve wrote way too much on this post already, let the bimbonizing begins!!

With basically nothing to do for 7 months, me go “I have never worked before, what’s stopping me this time?” It’s the most natural progression right? One graduate, one gets a job. Yes, monetary compensation also plays a BIG role. Being the absolute procrastinator that I am, it was only in January that I’ve began my effort in getting employed (read: Jobstreet.com). Clicked on various links, applied for various jobs and I’ve manage to secure two interviews. O’joy!

The first ‘virgin’ interview was for a Business Development Executive position in some financing company, the office looks great but the staffs could really lose the constant frowns. Nurse! Chill Pill quick! *Coughs* The interview went pretty okay, but through it all the interviewer aka Mr. Frown pretty much emphasize that I have to achieve the monthly sales target or there will be penalties. “Urmmm salary deduction?” “Yes” “So where’s the exit?” Kidding! I knew right at that moment that this isn’t for me but like a coward professional I just got through with it. Mr.Frown asked me whether I can start ASAP and with such fake enthusiasm I replied “Yeah! most definitely.” The next day, call them up and left a message with the receptionist “Can you please inform Mr. Frown that I may have had a change of mind. Send my regards, xoxo!” To Mr.Frown, If you’re reading this, I’m REALLY sorry! He actually tried to reach me several times.

Okay maybe I should have just been upfront about it. He did ask me whether I’m really interested. I guess at the time I just wasn’t comfortable in saying NO. Seriously, me making sales and advising people on finance? FAIL! I’m no Rebecca Bloomwood. The 2^nd interview was with a recruitment agency, funny how I was actually a bit more out of sorts and nervous from the 1^st time around. The interviewer was a pretty nice lady but it was held in kinda like a confessional room of some sort. In a really small constricted four by four space, It gives off a feeling like as if I was in a box. Maybe that was the whole purpose? Like some weird reverse psychology sorta thingy, screening out mentally imbalance candidates. Errr.. Moving on!! Well as for the interview, truth be told: I SUCK! My voice cracked several times during the whole process, I was pretty much in a complete state of self-consciousness. No prize guessing, zilch feedback given, seriously I wouldn’t have even hired myself. FAIL!

A few weeks after, I received a call. One recruiter from an employment agency unbeknownst to me asked whether I’m interested for the position of TM’s (Telekom Malaysia) Customer Service Representative. Miss Recruiter informed that she found me via Jobstreet and that I have all the qualification needed (What qualification exactly?). For the next half-an hour she explained to me the job scope, what we’re suppose to do and our responsibilities. I quote “It is ‘basically’ to receive inbound calls from TM’s customers and attend to their needs with the help of various helpdesks.” Servicing customers? Not exactly something I would make a career of but since I’m not exactly doing anything at the moment, what the heck! It’s only answering calls right? (Ah-ha) Well without giving it much thought, I said yes! At least for the interview and the rest as they say is history…

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Couldn’t put Humpty together again!

On a lazy Saturday, for some random unexplained reason Humpty Dumpty made an appearance in my brain cells. To think about it, maybe it is cause by the recent Alice in the Wonderland resurgence. Well whatever it is, it made me recite those verses over and over again. As I roll around in bed, a sudden surge of curiosity consumes me, I’ve decided to Google’ed Mr.Humpty. Maybe it has some sort of mystery to it, like a secret message in between the lines ala Angels & Demons. We are living in a world of conspiracies correct?

What I have ‘uncovered’ surprised me, well sort of. Did you know Humpty Dumpty was supposed to be a riddle? Funny, we all knew the answer, but the answer to what question? Well allegedly the riddle is about unmasking who exactly is this Humpty Dumpty. An Egg of course! How do we know? By the Egg-shaped man illustrations of course! Well HD (Humpty Dumpty not High Definition) was known to be published in the year 1803 in a manuscript of Mother Goose’s Melody. People back then may find egg-shaped man to be riddle worthy, God knows.

Well being humans that we are, of course there’s going to be alternate answers and theories referring to HD rather than just accepting that HD is in fact just what it is, an EGG. And the theories are:

• a brand of brandy
• a short and clumsy person
• a testudo: frame armored thingy
• a cannon
• King Richard III of England
• an obese (Me describing this as if it is an item)

Out of all these theories, the cannon are the one most widely agreed upon to be accurate. As for me, HD will always be known as that fat egg, period. Just to expand your knowledge base a bit more, Mr.Fat Cannon here also appeared in Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll (Anybody got a copy?). Well since the riddle is no longer that much of a riddle, let me create a new one. Why the heck were horses sent to save an EGG? Anybody got a clue? Maybe in the next post, I shall try to investigate how the heck did that Cow jumped over the moon.

-So what happened to the egg whites and yolks?

A brand new earphone. It’s the first thing I bought with my first month salary. Main reason? It gives me the freedom to choose the backdrop music for all the characters I encounter when I’m commuting from home to the office and vice versa. Each day as I walk the streets, I see various faces, various expressions, various stories. I can’t control how those stories played out but I do have the option of silencing the reality. I let the music with my imagination take life of it’s own.

I may see a homeless man scouring the streets with fireflies performing the foxtrot above his head, I may see aunties getting jiggy with the Single Ladies routine right smack-dab in the middle of KL Sentral. You get the picture. Music helps me to escape ‘reality’. It’s not that I blatantly ignoring it either, like I’ve said my eyes sees what’s visible. I still need to learn and I still need to understand.

I know for a fact that I do not fear ‘reality’. It just feels like it’s important for me to understand what ‘reality’ is slowly.
